3 Months Old

I can't believe Carson is 3 months old today. Boy how the time flies! It seems like yesterday Sydney was this age. Carson is doing great and has grown a ton in the last month. We took him by Dr. Mitchell's office while we were in De Queen to weigh and measure him since we don't have a 3 month check up.

Weight: 13 lbs. 5 oz.
Length: 24 1/2 in.
Eating: 5 oz. every 3-4 hours, cereal at night with a 6 oz. bottle, 1 oz. of pear juice w/ 1 oz. of water every morning
Sleeping: goes to bed between 8:00 and 8:30, usually wakes up between 3:30 and 4:30 for a quick bottle, then back to bed until about 6:30 or 7:00. Occasionally sleeps through the night until about 5 or 6. We do have a habit of waking up wanting our passy during the night sometimes. Naptime is getting much better, he is now napping in his bed. Carson naps for about 2 hours in the morning, 2 hours in the afternoon, and takes a cat nap around 5:30.
Development: Still only rolling over from tummy to back, holding his head up very well, smiling,
laughing, talking all the time, very active and alert, loves to splash in the bath tub, beginning to do some teething

Fun with Bradi & Presli

Sydney and Bradi acting silly as always
Presli and Carson
What good big sisters

Carson and I went to De Queen on Wednesday to pick up Sydney. We had a great time getting to visit with all of our family, but especially getting to hang out with my friend Lacey and her kids Bradi and Presli. Bradi is 7 and she and Sydney have been big buddies for a long time. They have so much fun together. Presli will be 1 in July and she is just precious. She makes Carson look like such a little fellow. We'll catch up in a few years!

Flower Pics

Okay, I know these pictures are not as exciting as looking at Sydney and Carson, but I just had to share them. We really aren't green thumbs around here at all, but happen to have some beautiful flowers growing in our yard. I love the Star Gazer Lily at the top.

No Spoons for Me

Going in...
Coming out!
No way Mommy!

Carson has been eating cereal before bed out of a cereal feeder for almost a month now. Last night we decided to see how he felt about eating it from a spoon. He was not having it! I'd put it in and he'd spit it right back out. I guess we'll continue with the cereal feeder for a while longer. I'll try and sneak a spoon in on him every once in a while to get him more used to it.

Baseball in Texarkana

Syd found the real game boring so she started her own
Watching the game with Boppy
Uncle Bubby batting
Laughing at funny Uncle Haydon
Mimi is pretty funny too
Having lunch with Pop
A little heat won't stop my nap
Taking a drink break
Naked little man
This past Saturday we drove down to Texarkana to watch Uncle Bubby and Uncle Haydon play baseball. They won both games and we had a great time getting to see everyone. Carson was such a good boy, especially as hot as it was. We stripped him down, kept him under the tent, and he was happy as could be. Sydney was busy with her own game of baseball and visiting the concession stand. After one of her trips she informed us that the people working said she was their best customer...I'm sure she spent the most money. She knows how to work it when she gets around 4 grandparents and 2 great grandparents at the same time. Cameron, Carson, and I came on home, but Syd went to stay for a few days in De Queen. I talked to her today and she is having a great time. She has been cooking with Nana, decorating a cake with Mimi, and working out at the fitness center with Boppy. They are much more entertaining than Carson and I. We can't wait to see you all again when the boys play in Little Rock.

Dinner @ Laura's

Sound asleep by the time we hit Cantrell

Playing in the bath after dinner at Laura's house

Laura, thank you so much for having us all over for dinner tonight. The food was great and it was nice to hang out with everyone for a while.

I'm sorry everyone that you had to listen to my screaming boy for 2 hours. We have recently started doing this between 6-8 most nights. It's not quite as bad when we're at home, but we're still hoping this phase won't last too long. It's so frustrating because there is nothing you can do to make him happy during this time.

On the other hand...
Will's extra absorbent diaper after hopping in the pool, clothes and all! This would be a great Pampers ad. He and Syd had a great time!

Fun with Will

This morning Will came to stay with us while his mom worked a camp for Junior League. He was so good and we had a great time!! I can't wait until Carson is walking around and talking to me. I did realize that we really don't need anymore kids for a while, :) six years is a good age difference. I don't know that I could do a 1 and 1/2 year old and a baby everyday. After we picked Sydney up from VBS the back seat of my little Honda sure was full with 3 kiddos. Kerri, he was such sweet boy and I'd be glad to watch him anytime.

Lyla's Opposite

My friend Sarah put a post on her blog about her daughter Lyla always wanting to be on her tummy. If you put her on her back she rolls straight over. Carson seems to be her exact opposite. When you lay him down to play on his tummy, he goes straight for the back. I could barely snap a picture before he started rolling over. He does like to sleep on his stomach though. He has started napping in his pack -n- play in the living room on his tummy. Needless to say nap time is getting much better! He'll sleep about half of his nap this way, then roll over to finish out on his back. Mommy's getting a lot more done when he takes two good naps rather than cat napping all day. Hopefully this trend will continue!!

Too Cute Cowgirls

Sydney and her friend Olivia are going to VBS at our church this week. The theme for this year is "Avalanche Ranch" and today the girls had to wear cowboy hats. Don't they make adorable cowgirls. Syd's been having a great time so far and hasn't been at home "bored" with Carson and I. Hopefully she'll be able to go visit everyone in De Queen next week...she can't wait!

Our 1st Anniversary

Tomorrow is our first anniversary. We have had a great year...a new job for Cameron, a new house, a great year in kindergarten for Syd, a beautiful baby boy, and tons of wonderful times together as a family. God blessed me with the most perfect man to be my husband and two absolutely precious children. I love you guys all so much!!

Kayla...Thank you so much for keeping Carson so that Cameron and I could have a nice dinner at Kobe. We had a great time and I'm so glad you got to experience the fun of bath time with Carson.

My Soon To Be Nephew "Davis"

Ashley isn't doing a very good job updating their blog (just teasing Ash), so I thought I would show off my first nephew, Davis Ryan Atkins. Davis should be joining us in mid September. This ultrasound was done back in April and I think they are having another one next week, so hopefully she'll have a new picture on her blog soon. I think their computer has been a little stubborn lately. We can't wait for him to get here and Ashley just looks adorable!!

Rub-A-Dub-Dub, Splashin' in the Tub

Okay, I know there is ton of pictures that look very similar in this post, but I just couldn't choose. They were all so cute!! Carson LOVES bath time with Daddy (he's the bath guy, Mommy watches). He is a splashin' machine. It is so fun to watch and since you can't all be at our house for bath time, I wanted to share these pictures.

Mommy's 24th Birthday

Yesterday was my 24th birthday (and Flag Day... Boni) and it was a great day. My wonderful husband and children gave me a watch I had been wanting and some picture software for my computer. Sydney also wrote me a sweet note and wrapped it up all by herself. Thanks to everyone else for happy birthday wishes, cards, and gifts. I am so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends in my life.

Lunch with the Gang

Will and Syd playing with some toys all over the restaurant

We're next!! Expecting in September (Ash) and December (Erin)
Carson wondering if we were ever going to leave

Will and Sydney smiling for the camera
Anna Carol always ends up with one of the babies as the food comes
Megan happy and smiling as always
Lyla staring at Ashley...What's Sarah doing back there?
Look at those toes...Sarah you have some major patience and a steady hand for those little toes

Today Anna Carol, Erin, Ashley, Ashley H., Kerri, Will, Sarah, Lyla, Laura, Megan, Sydney, Carson, and I got together for lunch at U.S. Pizza. We had a great time, but I'm sure they were glad to see us go!!

Can't wait till next time! You guys are all great friends and so much fun to be around.
