Carson's 2 Tomorrow!!

Our precious baby boy is turning 2 tomorrow!! I guess he's not a baby anymore, tear. We had a great birthday party yesterday so I'll be posting pics as soon as I can sort through them, and with school starting back tomorrow, who knows when that will be.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARSY-MAN!

Spring Break

I was a bad Mommy and didn't take many pictures of our Spring Break activities this year but we sure had a good time. We headed to Nashville on Friday to visit Lolli and Pop and do some fishing. Carson was a little impatient but liked reeling them in when his Daddy caught something. He was much more excited about riding the tractor or the gator to see the cows. He even got to feed the bull, to him it's a "bucka bull". He has a new found fascination with PBR. We went to De Queen on Sunday and just relaxed for a few days. Cameron and Pa Paw went fishing everyday and the kids and I did lots of visiting with family and friends. Sydney's friend Bradi came over on Tuesday and they played in the rain most of the afternoon...they are crazy when they get together. I also got to visit with some of my friends that I hadn't seen in a while, Lacey (Bradi's mom) and Jessica. It was great to see you both!! Mom, the kids, and I left early Wednesday morning for Fayetteville to visit Bubby and watch the Razorbacks play baseball. The game was fun but a little cold and rainy. Carson loved Ribby, the Razorback baseball mascot, from afar. When Ribby came over to give Carson five he went nuts. We spent the rest of the night listening to Carson ask in a very concerned tone, "Where's Raz-y-back?" Sydney, on the other hand, had a great time and was way more observant of the game than I expected. The Hogs won 10-0 so it was a fun game to watch.

Before we headed back to LR on Thursday we had lunch with my friend Boni. It was great to see you, Boni!! We were all very glad to be home Thursday afternoon and back in our beds that night. Sydney and Carson both slept until 9:30 this morning, I guess doing some catching up.
Tomorrow is Carson's 2nd birthday party so look for pics soon! I can't believe it's already been 2 years. The older I get the faster time seems to pass.

Rubber Boots and Yardwork

Yesterday wasn't near as nice as today weather wise, but it was much better than the rest of the weekend so Cameron decided the yard really needed to be mowed. Carson put on his rubber boots and headed out to help with some raking. He had to use his rake and blower, just like Daddy. Nana gave Carson and Davis some rubber boots for Christmas and they finally fit. He loves wearing them and was hilarious walking the first few times. There are some pics of him playing inside in his boots too...just for you Nana.

Those pine needles didn't stand a chance with these two.

I think Carson raked more out of the pile than he did in, but had so much fun!

Little Rocker's Marathon '09

Sydney ran in the Little Rocker's Marathon yesterday and had a great time. There were a ton of kids from her school that participated, so she was able to run with her friends Sarah and Emily for most of the race. Unfortunately, it was much colder than I remember it being last year. I had to help in the safety zone but Cameron was able to snap a few pictures. He and Carson spent most of their time looking for the guy dressed as a bunny on a bicycle. Carson kept saying, "Where da bunny go? I don't know." Now everywhere we go he thinks he sees bunnies. Enjoy the pics and I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Dinner with Daddy

I made spaghetti before Sydney and I went to AWANA's at church last Wednesday, and left Cameron to feed Carson. This is one of the pictures that Cam showed me when I got home. I'm glad I wasn't there to clean this one up. Looks like Carson is a fan of Mommy's spaghetti!

Sunny Saturday

Today was a great day. We had beautiful weather, family visiting, and lot of friends to hang out with. We are all feeling much better as well. Lolli and Pop, Cam's parents, came up this morning to watch Sydney play basketball. We also had some great BBQ after the game, yummy. We decided to take an afternoon drive out to Wye Mountain to see if the Daffodils were blooming yet and they definitely were. Hopefully we'll be able to go back out there next weekend while Syd's with us, but had to take some pictures of Carson today since we were there. Although he didn't want to cooperate, I managed to get a few cute pictures. He was actually quite hilarious in his stubbornness. No fit pitching or anything, just pretty much refusal to smile. He and his daddy feel the same way about picture sessions. The bad news for them is that I love them and usually, Mommy gets what Mommy wants (within reason). ;)

These first two pictures are evidence of Carson's stubbornness, but still pretty stinkin' cute.

I even managed to talk Cameron into one picture.
I think the next three turned out pretty cute.

After Wye Mountain we went to the Parrish's to celebrate sweet Mason's first birthday. Boy did he rack up on the toys! Lucky for us we now know lots of things Carson would love to have for his birthday, which is less than a month away. Happy Birthday Mason!!
Here are some pictures of Carson and Davis enjoying Mason's presents. They really hope Anna Carol will let them come play!

To wrap up our great day, we had dinner with our friends Mark and Kristin. We decided to head back to our house to visit when nap deprived, super sleepy Carson tried climbing the walls at the restaurant. Little did I know that Mark would become my hero because of this...MY COMPUTER IS NOW WORKING!! Thank you guys so much for coming to visit us and for fixing my computer. I love my techie friends!

All good things must come to an end...

Sydney played her last basketball game for the season today and her team did so well. It's amazing to see how much they improve each week. She scored twenty something points today...I was trying to be a good mom and get this one of film so it was a little hard to keep up and tape. Unfortunately, this is the only game I managed to film this year. I usually don't because I get so caught up watching that I forget I'm filming. It always turns out a little Blair Witch-ish, and I get motion sick very easily. Ha! Here are a few pictures from the game.
Sydney and her friend Emily after the game (Carson affectionately calls her "Enemy")

Nice steal Syd!

We can't wait for next year!

Strep STINKS!

Let me begin this by saying that I really shouldn't be complaining because life is pretty great for me and I know that there are some very sick people out there, but being sick STINKS! I guess if you can't complain on your own blog, where can you.

I started feeling bad Monday night, and no it wasn't due to the terrible ending of the Bachelor. I know I really shouldn't waste my time on that silly stuff. I was freezing from the time I got home until I went to bed. Once I headed to bed it only got worse. I couldn't get warm all night, I tossed and turned, and my hips were aching...just a bad night. Needless to say I stayed home and went to the doctor on Tuesday. When I got there I had a fever of 103.1 and after the gagging swab the verdict was Strep/Tonsillitis. The doctor said the headache, chills, and body aches (which had me worried about the flu) were due to the high fever. Of course he couldn't stop there and had to give me the typical you-look-so-young comment. I think his exact words were, "Adults usually don't do well with a high fever like that, but if I didn't know better I'd think you were in high school." I have heard this all my life (it's a little annoying) and am hoping that looking young now will turn into looking very young at 40!

Okay, back to the diagnosis and treatment. After deciding what I had his nurse gave me a very painful shot of antibiotics in the rear. I also got a prescription for an antibiotic, which would of course make me sick the first time I took it. I basically laid on the couch for 2 days trying to rest while my wonderful husband and daughter took care of me. I probably sound like such a baby, but let me tell ya', this strep was different. I've had it before, you know the typical sore throat, some meds, and done. This was really the first time I've been sick since Cameron and I got married. Luckily, he was very helpful so I think I'll keep him around. ;)

I went back to work on Thursday and as soon as the afternoon bell rang, so did my phone. Daycare calling. Carson has fever, a red face, coughing, and didn't nap long. Great. I immediately called the doctors office to tried and get an appoint that afternoon. Thankfully, I was able to get in and unfortunately, he also has strep. He doesn't really seem to feel that bad but has little red bumps on his face, back, and tummy. We stared his antibiotic last night so hopefully he'll be better in the morning. Needless to say, he and I are home again today.

I'm praying that Sydney and Cam don't get sick too. Sydney had strep a few weeks ago so maybe she'll be okay. Cameron, on the other hand, is the strep king. When we first started dating Ashley and I got Cardinals tickets for he and Ryan for their birthdays. We all went to St. Louis for the weekend and Cameron was sick the whole time. He basically survived off of Tylenol every four hours. When we got home on Sunday he felt worse and when I took his temp it was 104. I literally dragged him to the ER and they did all kinds of tests on him, even a cat scan. It turned out to be strep. From them on he got it about once every three months for a year or two. I guess his body wasn't used to being around a child and someone that teaches a room full of them everyday. At least he blamed it on Syd and I anyway. I think he's adjusted now, but he's still very paranoid about getting sick.

So a pretty crummy week, but beautiful weather now and hopefully it will hang around for the weekend. Tomorrow is Syd's last basketball game for the year so look for pics soon!! I hope everyone has a great weekend!
