"March Month"

If you were to ask Carson, he'd tell you his birthday is in "March Month." He's pretty much thought it was every day since his teacher first mentioned March during calendar time. In keeping with that we figured what the heck, let's just get his present a little early. We went bicycle shopping Sunday after church. Of course he chose the Spiderman bike, but apparently has a large noggin and couldn't fit in the Spiderman helmet. He settled for a Batman helmet, and it even came with a snazzy bell. It's okay to mix and match your superheros, right? We've been doing some riding the past few nights and he's getting the hang of it pretty fast.

I love those dimples!

Thanksgiving Pie @ Preschool

Carson's preschool invited the parents to have pie the week before Thanksgiving. The kids sang songs and gave out turkeys they had made. Carson's turkey says he is thankful for his Mommy, Daddy, Sister, and Grandma. I have no idea why he insists on calling my mom (Mimi to everyone else) Grandma, but it's just so funny. He says it in a really deep voice and makes us laugh every time. I'm very thankful for this little guy, too!!

Is it Halloween yet?

I think we still have about a month to go until Halloween...wish someone would tell Carson. He is obsessed with Spider-man right now. We decided to go ahead and get his costume, and he won't take it off. It was a knock-down, drag-out at bedtime last night to get it off, and then he wanted to wear it to church this morning. He likes to take all the couch cushions off, stack them up, and climb on them. He played so hard yesterday...

and finally...
crashed in the floor with his sister's sleeping bag. The second we started taking the costume off he woke up and the struggle began. I love this little superhero!

He's not a baby anymore...

My little baby boy tells me daily, "I'm not a baby, I'm a big boy!" Sadly, he's right. They grow up way too fast. Carson turned 3 on the 30th. He took cupcakes to school, went on a field trip to Jump Zone, and had Uncle Ryan, Aunt Ashley, and Davo over for pizza and cake. He loved it when we would sing Happy Birthday to him...he usually sang along to himself as well.
Happy Birthday, sweet boy!!

Carson's 3rd Birthday Party

We had Carson's 3rd birthday party a couple of weeks early. He won't actually be three until March 30th. I absolutely can't believe he's already that old! He is obsessed with "Cars", so of course that was the theme for his birthday party. We had his party at our church again since the weather is destined to be crumby for all of his parties.

Here's the birthday boy in his birthday shirt. My friend April made it, and I LOVED how it turned out.

My mom made his "Lightning CoQueen" (that's what he says instead of McQueen) and it was awesome, too. Thanks, Mimi...you're the best!!

I love these kids!

After the party, we had dinner at Ryan and Ashley's house. Carson was rockin' out on Davo's guitar. Too funny!!

**Thanks to everyone that came to the party.
Carson loved all of his fun gifts, and we hope you had a great time!!**

RaNdOm CaRsOn PiCs

I helped Mommy cook some New Year's Eve
snacks in my new Razorback apron.
Our winter break has me way off my schedule...I couldn't
even finish dinner without needing a nap.
These toys boys in the box have so much fun together!

Two Monkeys at the Zoo

My friend Anna Carol and I took our two little monkeys to the zoo a couple of weeks ago. The weather was absolutely perfect and the boys had a blast. Sydney was too busy being spoiled rotten by her grandparents in DQ to join us.

The boys rode in Mason's wagon to check out all the animals.

Getting ready to ride the train.

Does this remind you of our Halloween pictures? Apparently my child doesn't like loud noises, or noises at all for that matter. We all know the zoo train horn isn't that loud.

Pumpkin Patch

Carson's class went on a field trip to the Pumpkin Patch a couple of weeks ago. His daddy took off to go with him and they had a great time. Cam said that Carson loved the hayride and insisted on picking a "baby" pumpkin.

Carson's 1st Day of School

Carson started his new preschool today, yea!! We put him on the waiting list just after he was born and finally got in this fall. I think it's going to be a great place for him and I know he'll love it.

We found out last week that Davis, his cousin, got in too. We are so excited that they are going to the same place now. It was a family affair as we dropped them off this morning. Cameron, Sydney, Carson, and I met Ryan, Ashley, and Davis so the boys could go in together. We thought they would be pretty upset since they are so used to being home with us, but we were wrong. They just headed out on the playground like they'd been there for years. We attempted to take a picture of them together by the big crayons out front before going in. Needless to say they weren't really interested and kept looking in different directions.

I guess you see where they get it. HA!! Ash thought it would be funny to take Ryan and Cameron's picture with the crayons, so of course they couldn't look at the camera either.

Donut Addiction

Carson wanted powdered donuts for breakfast this morning, healthy, I know. I put a few on a plate for him and left the bag on the table in case he wanted more. I walked back to my room for 5 seconds and when I came back this is what I found.

I see a donut detox in our near future.

Kicked the Habit...

If you know this sweet boy very well, then you know he has always been VERY attached to his pappy (pacifier) and his mine (blanket). I figure we can live with the blanket for a while longer but he was beginning to look a little big for the pappy. We went cold turkey last Tuesday and I'm proud to say we've been pappy free for a week tomorrow. He asked for it a few times at the beginning but seems to have adjusted well. I have to admit there were a few M & M's involved. I figure if it works for potty training it should work for this too, huh?! And potty training...oh my...that is something we're going to wait a bit on. I've tried a little but he has absolutely no interest. Everyone says that boys are harder than girls and I definitely believe it. My sweet girl pretty much did it by herself a little before she turned 2. I'm sure we'll get it down when the time is right. We're just thrilled that we've kicked the pappy habit for now.

Water Slidin'

Carson and I went to our friend Megan's half birthday last weekend.
She's a December baby so her mom decided to have her party on her half birthday. Happy 2 1/2 Megan!! I think all the kids at the party were as excited about the her gift as she was. They loved the water slide. I was pretty surprised at how quickly Carson headed down. Thanks for a great party, Laura.

I love this picture of sweet Davo!

Carson's 2 Year Stats

It's been almost a month since Carson turned 2, and it's been almost 3 weeks since we saw the doctor for his 2 year check-up, but here are some stats...better late than never. Carson is 33 1/2 inches tall and weighs 28 lbs. His weight is average and his height is low average, pretty much what we expect. The doctor said he looked wonderful and is doing great developmentally. He even made it out with no shots this visit!!

What Carson's doing these days: He goes to bed at 8:30 and I wake him up for school about 6:45. On the weekends, he usually sleeps until somewhere between 8:00 and 9:00. He takes one nap a day from 12:30-2:30. He loves school and his teacher Mrs. Amy. Carson is a pretty good eater. He loves fruit and has recently started liking lots of pastas. He is still obsessed with watching the "bucka bulls" and likes to watch any kind of sport (which thrills his daddy). He is definitely all boy, loud and rambunctious. He loves playing outside and doing anything his Sissy does. He loves animal books, especially his new Wild Baby Animals magazines he's getting in the mail (Thanks Val and Kyle). He knows the name of more animals than I do! He loves to sing. Some of his favs are Row, Row, Row Your Boat, Deep and Wide, Old McDonald, and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. He says pretty much whatever he wants to. Sometimes it takes a couple of times for us to understand him, but most of it's pretty plain. He climbs on EVERYTHING and loves to pretend he's fishing with his "pishing pole." He has a Spider Man pole and can't really cast it but throws it like he is and says, "PSSSSSSSSSS." Cameron was hoping Carson would be left-handed like him, but he's definitely not. He does however bat left-handed. He has a tee and bats that way every time. Maybe we'll develop a switch hitter. He's a very sweet boy and always says please and thank you. He still loves his blanket, affectionately known as "mine" and his pappy (I know we need to get rid of that). Two of my favorite things he says are "I carry you Mommy," and "I hold you." It's also pretty funny when you call him from another room and you hear him reply, "I tummin!" He keeps us laughing constantly and we enjoy every minute of our adorable little blessing.

Sorry for so much info, but it's really for myself. This blog is my scrapbook of what goes on with the kids at different ages. I'd never remember otherwise. Enjoy a couple more random pictures.
