My Dear Sydney

Last Friday we went to the Upward Basketball Awards Ceremony. It was at Agape Church and man am I glad I don't climb the MOUNTAIN that takes you to their sanctuary every Sunday. That happens to be the reason I don't have pictures from the actual ceremony. I left my camera in the car and I can only climb Pinnacle once a day. They had a great guest speaker and Syd had a blast. I had to post this picture so she could show off her first trophy and her new Upward basketball.
I also need to publicly apologize to my wonderful mother for every dress shopping experience she had with me as I was growing up. Sydney and I shopped for a dress for Kayla's wedding and for Easter last Saturday...OH MY GOSH! I had no idea a seven year old could be so particular. I'm sure my mom and dad are reading this and saying, "I can!" Anytime I tell them about something Sydney has done or said they say she acts just like I did. To make things worse, the cashier at Dillard's asked if Sydney was my sister. I know I'm young and look even younger (especially since I had on no make-up), but people should really store that question away with, "When's the baby due?" Although we managed to settle on two really cute dresses, Sydney felt the need to add the following comment as we left the mall..."There are a lot of girls shopping with their moms, and I bet they're buying the dresses THEY pick out." Prom dress shopping in ten years will probably require medication. ;) I love you dearly Syd!!

Just be thankful that you only have ONE daughter to deal with...I am still clinging to the hope that Hannah will be that kid that just doesn't care what she wears, because it will obviously NOT be Emma!
