5 Months

Carson was 5 months old yesterday and he is getting so big. I can't believe that 5 months has already passed. He is doing very well with daycare since I've gone back to work. He smiles and laughs a lot and is very content. He is sleeping through the night and taking good naps. He has mastered eating with a spoon and loves sweet potatoes. He thinks Sydney is hilarious. He smiles when she simply walks into the room. He has rolled over from tummy to back and back to tummy. He is working on sitting up by himself. He always pulls up when you lay him back and can sit alone for a few seconds. I am not sure of his weight or length since we don't have a check up this month. He had his first "sickness" last week. Well, I don't really know if you can call it sickness, but a cold with a runny nose and low fever. This was a result of getting used to daycare I'm sure. He is at such a fun age and we are enjoying every minute of it.

Sydney Starts 1st Grade

Sydney has made it through her first week and a half of 1st grade. She loves it...and Mrs. Molsbee, her teacher!! We've started working with addition flash cards and she is awesome. Syd is such a smart girl and we're very proud of her.

Family Update

Well, it's finally time for school to start and me to go back to work. I have loved being at home with Sydney and Carson since the end of March and I'm really going to miss it. Carson started daycare this past Monday and he seemed to do really well with it. He went 3 days for 4-5 hours...I was trying to break him in slowly. Sydney and I worked on getting my classroom together and I took the GRE. I'm starting on my Master's at UCA this fall...please keep me in your prayers. I'll be a busy lady between two kiddos, a husband, work, and school. Sydney is very excited about starting 1st grade and I love having her at school with me. Cameron is still working at Fidelity and being a great dad and husband. Other than that we lead a pretty boring, but wonderful life. :)

Visiting Lacey, Bradi, and Presli

Yeah, like I can get them all still and looking at the same time.
Lacey and I

Last weekend we got to hang out with the Young girls, Lacey, Bradi, and Presli, when we went home for Cam's birthday. Sydney and Bradi played outside, went swimming, watched Hannah Montana, and ate way too many sugary foods. They wore us out!! We don't get to see them very often since they moved back to DQ, so we have a great time when we do.

Carson Skinny Dipping

Carson had his first swimming experience last weekend at Uncle Chuck and Aunt Karen's house. We thought he would enjoy it since he loves baths so much and he did! He wasn't crazy about Syd splashing water on him, but he loved kicking around.

Daddy's 30th Birthday!!

August 9th was Cams's 30th birthday and I'm a terrible wife for not having any pictures. I seem to have some from everyone's birthday but his. We went to De Queen last weekend and had our families together for dinner to celebrate. We got him an awesome new grill, so he's been doing all the cooking lately. I did cook dinner on his b-day and Ryan came over to eat with us. We got him an ice cream cake from Cold Stone and Syd made sure that we had candles and sang Happy Birthday. Tonight, DoDo (Aunt Kelly) came to keep Carson while Cameron and I had dinner at Loca Luna. I think his 30th turned out to be a great birthday!!

4 Month Checkup

Carson was 4 months old July 30th, but we just had his wellness checkup this past Wednesday. Dr. O'Neill said he is just perfect, and of course we tend to agree. He is at such a fun age! He doesn't get fussy often anymore...he smiles and laughs all the time. We did have shots at the Dr. and that was not fun. Sydney had to close her eyes and ears so she wouldn't cry when Carson did. She is a tender heart when it comes to her little brother.

Weight: 15 lbs.
Height: 25 1/2 in.
Eating: 5-6 oz. every 3-4 hours, cereal and fruit for breakfast, a little veggie for lunch, and either cereal, veggie, or fruit for supper. We just started the baby food so we're still experimenting with a schedule. He is doing much better with the spoon.
Sleeping: goes to bed between 8:00-8:30 and sleeps until anywhere between 5:15 and 7:00.
Development: Smiling, laughing, and talking all the time, grabbing and holding toys, loves his exersaucer and bumbo, always wants to be sitting up right, sits up great with help, make a motor noise with his mouth, loves to see himself in the mirror.
