Happy Easter

Our family had a wonderful Easter again this year and are so thankful to have a Savior that gave so much for us. Our church had the Lord's supper Thursday night and this was very special because it was Sydney's first experience since she asked Jesus into her heart a year ago. She enjoyed it, and it was a great chance to remind her of the real meaning of Easter.

Friday night she and I had a girls night out to watch the new Hannah Montana movie. I must say it was actually pretty cute, predictable but cute.

I spent much of Saturday working on my research proposal while the boys played and Sydney went to her friend Parker's house. Later that night, Sydney and I baked cookies and decided to be a little creative. My favorite cookies to make are oatmeal M&M and they are great for all holidays because you can always get special colored M&Ms. Mr. Food, the news food guy, made coconut cookies that looked like bird's nest with jelly beans one morning this week. I figured my oatmeal cookies would look at little like a bird's nest too and had some speckled egg M&Ms to go with them. Here is the finished product...

Next, it was time for the egg dying. Daddy helped Carson do some eggs and Sydney was an old pro. She even helped clean up the mess!!

We got up pretty early Sunday morning hoping to get some egg hunting in before the rain. Syd and Carson checked out what the Easter bunny left in their baskets and then headed outside.

Carson was much more into hunting eggs this year and his Sissy was great to leave the "easy eggs" for him. Every time he found an egg he would tell us what color it was and then say, "Bock, Bock, Bock."

We got ready for church in time to do some pictures, not that anyone but me wanted to participate. We still got some cute ones...

Carson yelling, "Happy Easter!"

My sweet little girl is so grown up.
We had a great church service and were so glad to have some friends there with us today. It started pouring down rain right before we left the house but we managed to get in pretty dry. **Thanks Daddy for dropping us off under the awning and braving the rain yourself.
After church we had lunch at Aunt Becky's house (my sister-in-laws aunt). The food was great and the kids had fun playing together. **Thanks for having us Becky!
Last but not least, we headed home for a long and much needed nap. I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter.
