Lolli's Pics from FL

Here are a few of the pictures Lolli took while we were in Florida. Now you know why she isn't in any of my vacation pictures, she's always behind her camera...which is way better than mine and she is way better than me at taking pics too. Thanks Lolli!!

15 Month Check-up

We went to visit Dr. O'Neill today for Carson's 15 month check-up. He told us that he looks great and seems to be a pretty smart boy. He weighs 23 lbs. and is 30 1/4 inches long. The doctor said that's about average for his age. Some things he's doing these days are walking/running everywhere, climbing, pointing at things, wanting to be read to, dancing, and throwing balls. He knows where his and other people's bellies are and loves to ticka, ticka them. Some words he says are Momma, Daddy, Sissy, Wowa (Lola), Bown Bear (Brown Bear), ni-ni (night night), Pop, Mimi, Nana, ticka ticka (tickle tickle), Oooww, Oooh-Wee, ba (ball), and no. He also says something that sounds a lot like thank you and does it when you hand him something so we're working on that. He has added a new favorite book to our reading collection, Elmo's Playdate. He is a great eater, pretty much anything you put in his mouth. He has started sleeping from about 8:30 p.m. until 9:00 a.m. He's gotten down to one nap in the afternoon and he sleeps from 2 1/2 to 3 hours. If he isn't up at 3 hours I usually go in and find him laying there awake, I guess having a little Carson time. He is such a blessing and we love him more everyday! Same goes for his big Sissy and I must add once again that she is an awesome helper. Below are some pictures of his first boo boo. We went to a fun thing at our church tonight and his feet got to going a little too fast. He took a nose dive and busted his lip. It bled a little inside and left a red place on the outside. He also got a little scrape on his knee. I know I'm silly for posting this but it's his first ouchie.

Syd's Tan

Sydney was actually pretty tan before we ever went to Florida but of course we still sunscreened her up good. The first day I used the continuous spray kind, my mom's convinced it doesn't work very well. She stayed in the water all day long and got a little bit of a sunburn. We put lotion on her that is supposed to help ease a sunburn and made her wear a tank top the next day. She was very upset about the tank top! Mom decided to get the rub on sunscreen for the rest of the week. She ended up looking like the Coppertone kid before we left. The day we got home she went swimming at her friend Landyn's birthday party. A little while after she got home she told me her back was itching. I looked under her shirt and the poor thing was peeling like crazy. It's looking much better now!

"Man I wish someone would open this cold Diet Coke!"
On our way home from Destin we stopped in Pensacola to watch the Blue Angels, the Navy's demonstration jets. I was a little skeptical at first, wasn't sure it would be anything that interest me, but it turned out to be pretty cool. We just found us a place on the beach to put our towels and umbrella and they flew right over...I mean RIGHT over. I was shocked that Carson wasn't scared by how loud they were but it didn't seem to bother him. He just said, "Ooooh Weee!" Sydney thought it was cool at first but finding seashells turned out to be much more fun. The Blue Angels are doing a show at the Air Force Base in Jacksonville sometime in October and we're excited about going.

Florida 2008

We spent the past week on vacation in Florida and had a great time. My mom and Cameron's parents went with us and we really enjoyed getting to spend time with them. The weather and water were both beautiful and the view from our condo was awesome. Sydney loved being on the 16th floor! Sydney was a water bug and wanted to be in either the pool or ocean at all times. She was quite the socialite too...every time I looked up she had a new friend to play with. Carson wasn't really crazy about the ocean but did a lot of "Oooww"ing at the waves, planes, and boats. He didn't like walking in the sand but enjoyed sitting and playing in it. The pool was his favorite. He also did a little dancing on the table at Joe's Crab Shack. The whole place was watching and he was just precious. Sydney, Cameron, Lolli, and Pop went on a sailboat ride one evening and got to see dolphins. In case you're wondering why I didn't go, I get motion sick very easily...no boats for me!! Syd and Pop also rented a wave runner to ride in the ocean one day and she really enjoyed it too. Of course we played putt putt and Sydney and Pop rode go carts till midnight one night. We had a wonderful time and I can't wait to go back next year. Enjoy the pictures...there will be more to come when Lolli gets me the ones she took. I know you're wondering how there could ever be more, I'm just very indecisive. And I must add, we are so blessed to have two wonderful children. They were so good the whole trip and definitely kept us laughing. Carson swimming in his crab

4th of July

This 4th of July we spent the day watching Bubby play baseball. The boys, Carson and Davis, loved being at the ballpark.

After dinner and watching Bubby in the homerun derby we headed to Dickey Stephens Park to watch the fireworks. Ryan and Ash were at a wedding rehearsal so Davis went with us to the fireworks too.
I was shocked that Carson enjoyed them so much. I thought the noise would scare him but it didn't at all and he loved it.
Below is what Davis thought of the fireworks. Pops on the River is going to have to step it up to get his attention next year.
This is evidence of who the real baby in the family is...Bubby!!

Blanket Babies

Carson is taking after his sister in the blanket department. Most of you know how attached Sydney has always been to her blankets but for those of you that don't I'll fill you in. She started carrying around a white blanket that her Nonnie made about the time she started walking. We couldn't go anywhere without that blanket. After several years her "not so white anymore" blanket was wearing very thin and had several holes in it. Nonnie tired making her another one but it just wasn't the same. Finally her Uncle Ryan and Aunt Ashley got her a new bigger blanket with Ryan's nickname for her embroidered on it...Squid. It took some convincing but she finally gave the white blanket up for her new green one. Although it isn't as crucial that we have it everywhere now, she still has her blanket with her every chance she gets. Carson has just recently become a blanket toter like his Sissy. He drags it around the house all day and sleeps with it at night. Luckily his blanket came from Target and shouldn't be so hard to replace.
