Where in the World are Cameron and Molly? (going)

Paris, France
London, England

If you haven't guessed from the pictures of the Eiffel Tower and the double decker tour bus, we're going to EUROPE!! Cameron is going on a business trip to Den Bosch, Netherlands. He'll be going on a Saturday to train a bank there for a week. I'll be flying over the Friday he finishes. We're going to spend 2 days in Paris and 2 days in London. It will be a pretty short trip for me, but I'm so excited!! I'll have to miss 4 days of work, but my wonderful friend Anna Carol is going to sub 3 of those days for me. That way I know my kiddos will still be doing a little learning while I'm gone. As for my own kiddos, Ryan and Ash are going to keep Syd and Carson will probably be heading to DQ. I'm pretty used to being away from Syd for a few days, not that I enjoy it, since she likes to go stay with everyone in DQ from time to time. Carson, on the other hand, has only been away from me for 1 night ever. I'm sure we'll make it just fine but it will be tough. Thanks so much to everyone that's going to help us out while we're gone. We really appreciate it and promise some really cool gifts.

Oh and, if any of you have ever been to Paris or London and have some pointers on things to do, pass them my way. We're so excited and thankful for this opportunity!

World's Worst Blogger

It's back to school and blogging goes on the back burner again. I promise I'm not an awful mom, and I do have a picture of Sydney from her first day of second grade. I made Cameron promise to take one before they left for school...I was already gone since I always get there early on the first day. My camera battery was almost dead so I'm glad he was able to get one, but now I can't get it to my computer to post. I seem to have left my battery charger in DQ and will have to wait until I get it back this weekend. Syd is loving second grade, of course. Her teacher, Mrs. Penn had surgery the second day of school so she has a sub for the next week. Thank goodness she likes the sub and I think the feeling is mutual.

Carson is getting some new teeth, bottom molars, and man has he been cranky. Poor fella, I know it must hurt pretty bad. Thankfully, I think the worst of it is over for now. As for his school report, it's not as good as his big sister. He is now hitting and pinching at school. Apparently several of them started hitting after the teacher they've had for the past year left to start nursing school. The bad part is Carson has picked out one child to hit and pinch. We're not sure what his beef is with this kid, but it must be pretty bad. ; ) He has recently started talking up a storm. Some things he says are: Mommy (the cutest thing he says by far, but you have to hear the way he does it to understand) Daddy, Sissy, Lola, Brown Bear, Uh-oh, no, bye-bye, night night, Bubby, Boppy, quacks like a duck, barks like a dog, puppy, baby, Pop, ball, Day Day (Davis), and he tries really hard to say baseball. He keeps us laughing all the time!

As for me and Cam, just lots of work. Cameron was working in Florida last week, but luckily wasn't in the hurricane area and got home just fine. My grad class started tonight and it's probably not going to be much fun. It's a research class, yuck!! All in all, we're great and feeling very blessed as usual. Check back for Sydney's school pick soon.

Happy Birthday Daddy!!

Saturday was Cam's 31st birthday. We didn't do much but we did have breakfast at IHOP, steak for supper, and he got a new fishing rod and real he's been wanting. He spent a big chunk of his day working in my classroom...isn't he wonderful!! We hope you had a great birthday Daddy and we love you bunches!!

Carson's Biggest Fear

Carson is scared to death of this little stuffed lion and it is quite hilarious. He refuses to touch it and doesn't want to be anywhere near it. When he sees it in his floor he says, "OOHH, OOOO!" and walks way around it. I have to admit we've been a little mean a few times and held it up by him to see what he would do and every time he screams. The other day the lion was laying on his floor and I caught him throwing balls at it. It was too funny! He doesn't have a problem with any other animals in his room, just this tiny lion...good thing Carsy wasn't born duirng the Lion King days.

Carson's Bleeding...or is he?

After dinner the other night Cam was bringing me the dishes off the table as I was loading the dishwasher. Carson had gone in Sydney's room to play, which he loves to do and she is usually great about watching him. When he came back in the kitchen, above is what we saw. Cameron and I both panicked and started trying to find were Carson was bleeding from. I'm not sure why but after we couldn't find anything wrong, I sniffed the spot on his forehead and it smelled very fruity. I immediately called Sydney in and asked if there was a lidless maker anywhere in her room. She said no and ran back to her room very quickly, and of course we followed. We didn't see anything red laying around so Cam asked her where it was. She finally pointed to an empty package of fruit punch (the singles you put in a water bottle) hidden on her shelf. Apparently Carson had gotten some of the powder remnants on him and Syd was afraid to tell since she wasn't supposed to have that in her room. When it was all figured out we had a good laugh at how we reacted. So the answer is Carson was not bleeding!!

A Few Days in DQ

Last Wednesday the kids and I went to DQ to visit for a few days. We decided we better take advantage of our last free week before school starts. We had a great time visiting with everyone and of course ate some great food. Carson got his first, much needed, haircut. Okay, it was really just a trim, I couldn't part with the curls just yet, and he did great...the sucker helped. At least his bangs are out of his eyes now.

My friend Lacey and her kids came to visit us and we got to do a lot of much needed catching up. Carson and Presli got to do a little painting, sort of. When I was little I used to use a paint brush and water to "paint" PaPaw's workshop. It turned dark brown and made me feel like I was really painting. So, PaPaw gave them a big bucket of water and paint brushes, and let them go. They had a great time and ended up soaked!

Sydney and Bradi were busy playing on the back of Bubby's Avalanche. I'm not sure what was so fun about it but they seemed to enjoy themselves. I think it was their stage. These girls are a dangerous pair let me tell ya', but have so much fun together.
The girls wanted to take a picture of Lacey and I so I thought I'd post it. They remind me so much of Lacey and myself when we were younger. Lace, I just couldn't bring myself to post the silly pic. It was great seeing you guys and I hope we will again soon.
Cameron rode down with my cousin Kayla on Friday to go fishing with PaPaw. They enjoyed themselves as usual and caught 20 fish. We also had a little birthday dinner for Nana, Cameron, and Uncle Frank. Birthday cake, pecan pie, gooey butter cake, and buttermilk pie...how could a girl choose?! Can't wait to go visit again.

Playtime Pizza

My prize from the giant arm game
Havin' some ice cream
This last week was very busy. I took a class in Conway to get my elective for grad school out of the way. It was nice to do it in one week rather than a whole semester, but it was all day, everyday. The kids had a great time with Alayne, our babysitter, but were pretty clingy when I got home everyday. I guess they were used to me being home with them for the past couple weeks, and it made me want to be all the time. They're pretty entertaining kiddos and I love being with them all day. Enough of my sob story, we went to a new place called Playtime Pizza Friday night. It is a huge place with a pizza buffet, tons of games, go carts, bumper cars, laser tag, etc... Basically a gigantic Chuck E. Cheese. The food wasn't great but Sydney and Carson had a great time playing. (Cameron did too!) The top picture is of Carson at the prize slot for an arm game like they always have in Wal-Mart lobbies, except it had a huge arm and really big prizes. It cracked me up when he just crawled in there and took a seat. Sydney got to drive a bumper car but had to ride the go carts with Cam. She won lots of tickets, got some good (shhh! CHEAP) prizes, and had a great time.
